The Hawkeye are supposed to be a bottom of the pack team in the Big 10 in basketball this year. There are a few things you have to like about this Iowa team though like their hustler, and a few players that could dominated in the Big 10 this year.

The main problem at Iowa last year was their were two many players with big egos on the team. But with the graduation of Luke Recker, and Reggie Evans plus some other players being suspended the team has actually become better. The reason this is a better team is because they are more team-orientated . There are more then 2 players taking shots this year unlike last year when Recker and Evans were the ball hogs. This years team also hustles on every play. Two more things I really like about this team is the way they play defense, and rebound.

There are a few players on this team that could be the top two or three at their postion. One of these players is point guard Chauncey Leslie. He has great speed, and can drive to the basket against anybody. He is also a solid defender. Another player that could garner Big 10 honors is forward Jared Reiner, in fact Reiner has already been named Big 10 player of the week once this year. . I also look for 2 freshman to make an impact this year in Jeff Horner, and Greg Brunner.

If I had to predict a spot for the Hawkeye's to finish this year I would say 5th or 6th. This is higher then most people think they will finish, but their hustle, and a few key players will allow them to finish this high. Also who picked Iowa to win the Big 10 in football this year, so you never know what can happen.
